OUR STORY

Whether you are a visitor to or living in Marbella, trying to decide on where to go and how to find it, can be, let’s face it ……. a pain in the neck! That is how the concept for HeyMarbella began.At the time we did not know Marbella very well. Any time we went out, it ended up involving a few hours online trying to figure out where we would like to go and how to get there. It took a bit of the fun out of the night.

Luckily for us we were in a position to do something about it. My other half is a software developer and my background is in promotions and marketing. Plus I love to eat out and explore.

We decided to develop HeyMarbella as a system we ourselves would use on a regular basis. Selecting all the best bits Marbella has to offer in a stylish Website and App. Giving you an easy to use source of knowledge and information we hope will let you Explore, Discover and Enjoy this beautiful place.

Finally after a lot of long days and late nights we launched heymarbella.com. We hope you love it as much as we do.

What does Marbella think?

Events and businesses owners were very excited when we first started to approach them and show them what our site could do. Everyone seemed interested in our idea and the vision we have for the future.

Before we launched, we really wanted this site to suit everyone so we designed our site based on feedback from family and friends.

HeyMarbella was born

We designed a new website called heymarbella.com and got to work adding events and places to it. Our main focus was to make it as easy to use as possible.

Light bulb moment

After years of discovering great new places in Marbella the old fashioned way, we finally realised that Marbella needed a better way to help people explore all the great places it has to offer. Hence the brainstorming began!

Next steps

As we got to know more people we started to receive recommendations, which was great 🙂 However, we still tended to get lost … a lot, which was bad 🙁 Other times we tried to search online for places to go to … this usually took ages and left us

Early experiences

As everything was new to us, we often found ourselves wandering aimlessly trying to find somewhere to eat and usually ending up in a tourist trap.

Packed our bags

After falling in love with Marbella while on holiday earlier in the year we packed up our life in Ireland and moved our young family to begin a new life here.
